Der Workshop

Voraussetzungen:

You can join as a total beginner, or come as an intermediate and keep working on your basics and share your steps and ideas with us. Most important is to have fun and go with the music and rhythm.
Bring your dancing shoes!
Best are shoes with flat and smooth soles, that make a tapping sound & that you can slide with.

Inhalt:

Music and dancing belong together. That's why we will learn how to be part of an oldtime jam as a dancer, and how to support the musicians by creating percussion sounds with our feet. We will concentrate on the basics (that I have learned myself in workshops at camps like Mt. Airy & Clifftop and also from watching dancers for example the green grass cloggers, Ira Bernstein, or Jess Collins while exploring the music scene in America and the UK) and I will introduce you to a few different steps that you can improvise with at future oldtime music get-togethers.
Have fun, keep the rhythm, and be part of a wonderful community worldwide. It's more fun for musicians to play if there are dancers around.

Voraussetzungen:

Everyone with two working legs can join, this workshop starts at zero. You don’t need to bring a partner, we will find you one or several.

Inhalt:

We will go through some fun routines and dance like there is no tomorrow. The workshop will contain some couples dancing and group dancing.
